Textile engineers should be interested in self-employment

Textile and Jute Minister Ghulam Dastagi's Ghazi Bir Pratik has remarked that textile engineers should be more interested in self-employment for the development of textile or textile sector.
He said, why do textile engineers work? You (textile engineer) should be more interested in self-employment. There is no alternative to the initiative itself to strengthen our sector. The minister said this while addressing a seminar on the importance of textile technology in Bangladesh on the evening of Sunday (July 27th) at the initiative of the Department of Textiles, Engineers Institution, Bangladesh (IEB). Ghulam Dastgir Ghazi said textile engineers have to create public opinion to give BCS status. Without making public opinion, any recommendation will not work.

The minister added that textile engineers will have to come forward for the development of the country. The importance of textiles in the business sector is immense. BJMC is at a disadvantage, so no match will be opened. We want to improve government mills through public-private partnerships. That's why two factories have already been set up in the private sector. Further factories will be left in the private sector. We want to benefit those who are interested in this sector. Ghulam Dastagir Ghazi added, "We are now in the second position in the garment sector all over the world. We want to move forward. On the other hand, a research center will also be set up for the development of the jute industry. That is why we are continuing the discussion. And there will be further development of jute industry in the research center. Also present at the seminar were IEB President Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur, Chief Engineer Professor of Textiles at Daffodil International University. Md. Mahbubul Haque, IEB general secretary engineer Khandaker Manzoor Morshed, vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Textile University Prof. Engineer Abul Kashem and others.
